Day 1: Love in Full Bloom for Dominic + Annie
With the cool air December brings, so commences the peak of wedding season in the North of Thailand. These days, many couples seek unique ways to celebrate their union, moving away from conventional practices and venues. As a destination wedding planner, we can definitely help you with that.
Picking a location for your destination wedding is a huge undertaking. Our couple, Dominic and Annie, who reside in Virginia, Canada, wanted both a memorable and special destination, with their guests’ experience in mind.

So you might be wondering: Can I close down an entire flower farm for the day just for our wedding?
Yes, of course! As a luxury wedding planner, we work magic to offer unique locations that leave an unforgettable experience for you and your guests.
And the wedding celebrations of Dominic and Annie was truly unforgettable in every sense (read about their second day of celebrations at the iconic Dhara Dhevi here).
To get started, let me give you the rundown of how their 2-day wedding unfolded…

Take a moment to picture this: A myriad of colourful Lanna lanterns swaying in the tall surrounding trees, the cool winter breeze in the late afternoon, the wedding party decked out in intricate traditional Laos silk outfits in a variety of jewelled tones from sapphire blues to sage greens. Every detail, from the textures and fabrics, to the multicoloured hot air balloon hovering over the abundance of blooms, is carefully curated to create a ethereal backdrop that looked stunning through every photograph.
Standing out against the surrounding environment, our bride, Annie, was a vision of beauty in her bespoke wedding outfit, with fine embroidery and gemstone detailing that gave a touch of modern sparkle.

A RICH TAPESTRY OF LOVE THAT CELEBRATES HERITAGE AND UNITY
The guests were ushered to the middle of the flower fields where the stage was set for the customary Khan Mak ceremony, a joyous spectacle that involves the groom's family marching towards the bride and her family, bearing gifts and symbolic items. It signifies the groom's intention to marry and the family's acceptance of the bride.
After the dowry was presented to the bride’s family, the stage was converted for the Thread Tying Ceremony (มัดมือ). At the altar, a holy string is strung in a circular motion around the bridal couple’s heads to represent the linking of their destinies. All adult guests are then invited to participate in blessing the couple, a truly special tradition where culture and hearts are weaved together in an enchanting moment.

LOVE IS IN THE AIR!
As the sun set, the highlight of the day was the hot air balloon flight for Dominic and Annie as they floated overhead in perfect bliss. What a dreamy and inspiring first experience to enjoy together as they had a bird’s eye view of all that they had envisioned in the months leading up to this day.
